Question 1

What is Kids Learning Hub?

Accepted Answer

Kids Learning Hub is a free, game-style learning website for primary and early high school students. It offers nine learning areas: Python coding with real in-browser code, NSW Selective Schools Placement Test preparation with 10 full mock exams, NAPLAN practice for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9, Premier's Spelling Bee training, touch typing, computer basics, web development with a live HTML playground, healthy habits, and money and investing basics. Children earn points, badges and short arcade play breaks as they complete levels.

Question 2

Is Kids Learning Hub free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Kids Learning Hub is currently completely free with no advertising. If a paid membership is ever introduced for premium features, it will be announced clearly in advance.

Question 3

How does Kids Learning Hub help with NAPLAN?

Accepted Answer

Its NAPLAN courses cover the real assessment areas — Reading, Writing, Conventions of Language and Numeracy — for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9, with 300 original practice questions per year level, explanations for every answer, timed writing prompts, official key dates, and links to ACARA's real past papers.

Question 4

How does Kids Learning Hub help with the NSW Selective test?

Accepted Answer

The Selective Prep course covers Reading, Mathematical Reasoning, Thinking Skills and Writing across 16 levels, plus 10 full-length timed mock exams in the real test format with results and revision lists.

Question 5

How does Kids Learning Hub help parents?

Accepted Answer

A parent account links to children and shows today's activity, a 30-day activity chart, completed levels with dates and durations, and printable per-course progress reports with first-try accuracy and teacher-style ratings per subject.

Question 6

Can children really learn Python coding on Kids Learning Hub?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Python course runs real Python in the browser — children write and run actual code from their very first lesson, progressing through 160 quests from variables to functions, debugging and testing.

Question 7

Are the games on Kids Learning Hub limited?

Accepted Answer

Yes, deliberately. Completing a level earns one five-minute play break in an arcade of 20 original mini-games; the game closes automatically when time is up, keeping the focus on learning.

Question 8

What devices does Kids Learning Hub work on?

Accepted Answer

Any modern web browser. A laptop or desktop is recommended because the typing course and several games use the keyboard; quizzes and reading work well on tablets and phones.

Question 9

What ages is Kids Learning Hub suitable for?

Accepted Answer

Kids Learning Hub is designed for children aged 5 to 15 (Kindergarten to Year 9). Younger children in the Kindergarten to Year 2 band have questions read aloud automatically and games that run at a gentler pace, while older students get NAPLAN, NSW Selective and coding content pitched to their level.

Question 10

How many practice questions and activities are included?

Accepted Answer

There are over 7,900 questions and activities across nine courses — including 3,200 original NAPLAN questions (800 per year level), 10 full NSW Selective mock exams, more than 2,500 Spelling Bee words, and 560 Python coding quests — plus 52 learning games. Everything is free while in beta.
